Visa Ruuhinen is a World Class Frisbee player with over 25 years of experience of all flying disc sports. He is a Finnish national champion in Frisbee Freestyle 1990-1997, 1993 National Overall Champion of Finland, 1995 Arizona State Overall Championship silver medalist and as a career highlight WFDF, World Flying Disc Federation, World Championship silver medalist in Frisbee Freestyle 1997.

AavaCamp is designed for international kids from all around the world who's parents or relatives are from Finland. All activities are instructed both in English and in Finnish.

After a successful career as a professional frisbee player, Ruuhinen has worked with his business, FrisbeeSports Promotions, with educational programs, promotions and as a press manager for 2006 and 2007 Disc golf European Open tournament, first ever PDGA major in Europe. Also updating frisbeesports.net, an international www-portal / media, both in Finnish and in English is a big part of FrisbeeSports Promotions daily duties.



The greatest disc golfer in the world, 12-time World Champion, 5-time USDGC Champion and 2007 European Open Champion Ken Climo interwied by tournament press manager for Finnish national TV just minutes after winning the European Open 2007 tournament.

A 27-minute documentary, produced by Discmania and FrisbeeSports Promotions for the Finnish National broadcasting company YLE, reached hundreds of thousands viewers in Finland. We told the audience the whole story about the history of frisbee, combined with the modern day disc golf action from the European Open 2007 tournament.

The consept of the President's Cup, an international team competition between team USA and team Europe, featuring only the top touring pros in the world is something special FrisbeeSports Promotions has created together with it's partner Discmania.

This year, as 10-year anniversary of The US Disc golf championship, we will work together with the PDGA, Innova Champion and Zonedriven sports to organize an international showcase and highlight of pro disc golf in october in Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA. It will be something very special.

With all the hard but fun work with promoting disc sports, particulary disc golf is growing in popularity and becoming a mainstream sport in Finland, and in Europe.

FrisbeeSports Promotions does more than just camps, web-communications, cooperation with international and national media and cooperation with Discmania for the European Open tournament and the President's Cup international team competition.

A good example of Interaction with people / promotions on the road is 2007 Lipton Ice Tea Disc golf promotion tour. During this tour to actionparks and festivals, FrisbeeSports Promotions staff met face to face over hundred thousand Finns, and gave them all basic information and skills needed for the game of disc golf. At the same time, lot's of fun with people.

Season 2007 FrisbeeSport Promotions had a cooperation deal with the national frisbee association of Finland. FrisbeeSports promotions created a website for the national tour of disc golf and took care of of all the media communications all season long. With this cooperation the sport of disc golf has had more media exposure than ever before.

A typical start for an educational program starts with a phrase: "Story without a frisbee is like a frisbee without a story".

In summer 2007 FrisbeeSports Promotions helped Finnish National broadcasting company YLE, and it's Swedish department FST to produce a 15-minute disc golf team competition for FST production called Sportkampen. Series of 11 episodes were aired last fall and one episode was mainly about the green team competing against the orange team in disc golf. Again hundreds of thousands viewers in Finland.
